Make It! Vancouver Craft Show
From Thursday, November 28 to Sunday, December 1 we were part of one of Vancouver's largest handmade craft sale, Make It! Wow! What a week! Thirty six hours of talking to people about rabbit and cats, plus four heavy lifting hours of set up and take down. We made it! (No pun intended) We knew as the only cat and rabbit company, we were running a bit of a risk by exhibiting, but if we could share our knowledge of rabbit care with even a few people, we knew it would be worth it. We had so many people who didn't even know rabbits required toys come to our booth and learn about them. We proudly talked about how rewarding rabbits are, how they are litter trained, and can be taught things like tricks and agility. Hopefully some walked away knowing that rabbits are not just caged, 'starter-pet' animals. We were also able to spread the word about our company locally, which will also hopefully lead to future connections. Unfortunately, most of our profits from the show goes to paying for the space itself, but in the end, it was worth it to talk to people about rabbits, their care, and to share our passions with others. Here is the breakdown of what we are donating. It doesn't really doesn't feel like much to us considering the large expenses each rescue has, but we are hoping that it will help at least a little. Bandaids For Bunnies: $75 Cash and $50 worth of Rabbit Toys Small Animal Rescue of BC: $100 Cash Vancouver Rabbit Rescue and Advocacy: $75 and $50 worth of Rabbit Toys Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association: $200+ worth of Cat toys for fosters and fundraising. There are still a few more donations we are working out, where we will be donating our online sales to a few rescues. Keep your furry ears perked for the updates!
